Insurance Requirements

MPS requires many of our external partners and organizations to obtain general liability insurance. This is because having insurance means that a partner or outside organization is adequately protected in the case of any accidents or negligence that may occur.

Minneapolis Public Schools requires commercial general liability insurance if:

- A Community Partner will be working with students unsupervised*

- A non-profit organization wants to send flyers home with students.    

* If an individual or organization is fully supervised while working with students (MPS staff member is present for the entire length of programing or services), then a waiver of insurance can be signed.  Please email cpo@mpls.k12.mn.us to request the this waiver.
