Insurance Requirements

MPS requires insurance from any cmomunity partner working alone with students as well as organizations distributing flyers to students.  Having insurance indicates that an organization is adequately protected in the case of any accidents or negligence that may occur.

Minneapolis Public Schools requires commercial general liability insurance if:

- A Community Partner will be working with students unsupervised*

- A non-profit organization wants to send flyers home with students.    

* If an individual or organization is fully supervised while working with students (MPS staff member is present for the entire length of programing or services), then a waiver of insurance can be signed.  Please email cpo@mpls.k12.mn.us to request the this waiver.
